TB Testing (PPD)

A mantoux skin test is required and read by a licensed health care provider within six months prior to entry at Caltech. Documentation should be in English. If you have a history of positive TB skin test, you must submit a chest x-ray report done within six months to one year prior to entry at Caltech. A history of BCG (Bacillus-Calmette Guerin) vaccination does not preclude the need for TB skin testing or chest x-ray.

For students needing TB skin testing, The mantoux skin test is administered at the health center Monday to Friday anytime during clinic hours except on Thursday because the skin test needs to be read in 48-72 hours. The cost is $10.00 and is charged to your student account.
