Laboratory Tests
The health center acts as a drawing station for most blood tests ordered
by either the health center staff or any physician seen outside of the health
center. This service is free of charge.
Simple office procedures such as rapid strep test, urine pregnancy and urine
dipstick are charged to the student account for a very nominal fee.
Blood drawing services done at drawing stations other than the health center
and laboratory charges for services provided by outside reference laboratory(s)
such as specimen analysis and interpretation are handled directly by Aetna Chickering
through the student health insurance plan.
For more information on laboratory charges, talk to your health provider
when laboratory work is ordered.
Most test results are available the following day or according to your clinician's
instructions. It is the health center's policy not to notify students if test
results are reported as normal, however students are more than welcome to call
or drop by the health center to review their laboratory test and request a copy
of the test(s) result(s). The best time to call is after 10:00 a.m.
