Hepatitis B
Documentation of three doses
of hepatitis B vaccine is required. In the absence of documentation, proof of
immunity with Hepatitis B surface antibody (Anti-HbsAg) is required and
confirmed by a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
If the series was started and
can not be completed prior to August 1, 2007, at least 2 doses prior to arrival
at Caltech should be in place. The third doses can be completed at the Health
Center for $40.00.
Known hepatitis B carriers
must provide the health center with the most recent Hepatitis B surface antigen,
hepatitis B core antibody and hepatic B e antigen qualitative results. This will
assist the health center staff in ensuring that continuity care is addressed and
provided.
